Well, another lovely day ,got son’s bed stripped, completely.all washed and now airing .
At Head Office for a few days .
On Sunday - really fed up with oven so as I have it insured with D&G I phoned and an engineer came yesterday -it was rubbish on Sunday ,would not get to temperature .
I did not clean it as I thought it would be written off , however seemingly it is a fault with  this model ,the element is not powerful  enough ,needs to be fan assisted but ordinary cooking is the first option,so a new element and other things .

Well! Trump has done a Putin re Greenland !
Mind you he could be thinking he could do a “back door “invasion “ of Russia!
The man is surely mad—- His own “ Ukraine”——-

He will expect us to help on the basis the U.S.A has helped us twice in the two world wars even though they left it bit  late .
When they did join us they were were outstanding and we were and are thankful.

As old man Steptoe said to the American seated next to him on the plane flying to Flanders for a WW1 anniversary event.
The American mentioned “ The 1916 War” old Steptoe came back with - “ It was *********1914-18 for us! “
Oh dear -

Such an exciting afternoon ,cleaning the oven -, but I did the sink unit out too.!!!!
My halo is glowing .
.
Clocks forward on Sunday as has been kindly mentioned .
Mothering Sunday , I must get some flowers in for my mother and mother  in law ‘s memories .
Card from daughter aLready.
Eldest son will come tomorrow to shop with me , Tesco, order in the evening but need some nice fresh real bread!
No idea when second son will be back ,some “ big” meetings !

Well thanks for your best wishes to those unwell or with problems or unwell
and with problems ..look after yourselves folks.
Viktoria.

Good to hear you're well Viktoria  :)

I hate cleaning the oven, can't stand the strong chemical cleaners as they make me gasp for breath. It's a shame because they're really effective. I've tried all the recommended non chemical cleaners such as bicarbonate of soda and white vinegar,  they just don't work. The smell of vinegar makes me gasp too! So my oven isn't exactly pristine but there are better things to think about than a mucky oven!

I chickened out for similar reasons and paid for my oven to be cleaned professionally, wasn't cheap but it looked pristine after.

Keep your halo gleaming Viktoria.., you're a busy person

At last collecting our new  fire tomorrow  to complete our  heating system,  not as efficient  as our gas back boiler was but the new electric one should help when it is really cold, our chimney goes through the centre of the house  so the chimney  breast was always warm, that's gone now and it makes a lot of difference,  wish we had explored other central heating systems,  stuck with it now, ah well!

Thanks for your kind wishes folks.
We loved our Economy Seven heating system.Seven hours of very cheap electricity that charged up storage heaters .
With twelve feet high ceilings a lot of heat went up there , but we were really cosy, hisever static did collect dust and the walls above the heaters
needed decorating more frequently.

Well a bit of drama this morning -horses - three I think ,I heard their hooves on the lane at the side of my house  .
I was still upstairs sorting things out ,just as the horses would be passing a property a little way along ,-the owner is a motor bike enthusiast -and just at that moment he had his garage door open and let full throttle an enormous
VROOM !Well the horses screamed and turned away from the noise and the only close by place away from it was down the back lane where after a short distance it is badly overgrown and there are huge storm drains six feet deep and over a meter in diameter .
Not visible in the brambles and dangerous as the original iron covers were stolen by “ travellers” .They were replaced by wood but they must be rotten now . However the horses did calm down but Phew!
The motor cyclist did not know horses were coming I think ,the lane is not hard surfaced so no clippetty clops for the chap in his garage to hear.
I hear dull thuds when horses pass .
I don’t know how I stand the excitement ——-

Washing line full of son’s stuff ,he will get his legs smacked when back home again!Socks inside out-

Tesco delivery later today .
Eldest son here tomorrow and will pick up what I want extra from the supermarket near them .
I can’t live without my T,V, programmes timetable.
A newspaper with stiff quizzes and demon crosswords.

Weather very pleasant if cool.
Look after yourselves folks .
Have a lovely weekend and for those whose families are far away and not able to visit, you will be lovingly thought of.
Viktoria.

Hi,
I wash everything inside out!  I always thought garments kept there colour better and didn't bobble so much, less friction on the outside.
Still waiting to hear if Viktoria has used her scooter yet!

Perhaps she hasn't,  I am sure she will let up know when she plods up a hill and whizzes down.

Not yet!
I think it will be better if one of my sons accompanies me first, just to the cemetery and back. They have suggested it.
Second son is down at Head Office for most of next week ,eldest son is not too  well at the moment so I will wait a bit .
Iwas so confident on the trial run before I purchased it , but that one was all set up etc,I think I ought to ask for a bit more “ tuition”—
However ,went for eye test last week and the opticians were running late, three people before me and it was an appointment !So I had to wander round as there are only two chairs in the shop, so popped in three charity shops very close by,but that was as much as I could do .I was really tired and shaky ,my son had driven down and was mooching in a big antiques shop to kill time before picking me up to go
home .He had no idea of the delay .So I need to use it ,but the opticians is just small on a very narrow pavement ,no place to park it.
If he is better eldest son will come tomorrow as it is Mothering Sunday so if he has time he wii walk with me.
His wife likes to go to the cemetery where her mother lies of course, with flowers . He usually goes too, as Louisa Maude says cemeteries are not always safe.
Tesco order just come ,missing a new bristle hair brush ,my hair is a mess, all the tablets perhaps - though a good quality brush might help.
Well hope no one is lonely tomorrow especially the ladies .

Goodnight everyone ,take care ,especially those with difficult health issues.
Thanks for your kind interest folks.
Viktoria.

It will get sorted .

I'm sure you will be a 'whizz' once you get to use the scooter Viktoria  :D

Have an appointment with optician myself Tuesday, a 3 monthly checkup as he's keeping an 'eye' on a little cyst which fortunately hasn't changed since first noticed.
We're visiting the 2 month old twin girls who came home from hospital around their due date a few weeks back, just in time for birthday of their mummy. I have been putting aside little things to take since news of arrival and including some wee garments they won't get a lot of wear out of for long I expect, hopefully not made a mistake on too little as if I have then I've done it twice  :D We are fully over any residual now too from lurgy we came home with from our holiday.

Happy Mothering Sunday where it applies and enjoy any pampering and family time coming your way. In NZ we celebrate as some others do with Mothers Day second Sunday in May and not the Lent observation.

LM, I'm sure your grandson will have been having a wonderful time on his trip or OE ( overseas experience ) as we call it here when young adults venture outside the country to explore.

Enjoy your end of week, sunny and warm Sunday late morning now here ...
