Just so you know what happened next, I went to the gp’s this morning and eventually got the necessary form. It took the staff ages to find said form on their system. I now have to wait till I get the next 84 tablets , probably by next week , as our pharmacy ( next door to the gps) takes at least a week to put the tablets up ( they send some off to a hub in Southampton apparently) then I have to count the tablets I have left of the other dose and put that on the form. The form is designed for you to sync every med to the same date, but my other meds are more ‘ as and when’, so I only need to sync the one medicine, albeit in two different doses. I suspect I’ll have to put a large note on the form saying I’m only wanting to sync the one medicine.
So what I thought was a very simple request to alter one item so it tallied with its counterpart, is not straightforward at all. It all goes to the ‘ pharmacy team’.
Re the pharmacy, many people have moved their prescriptions to other chemists because of how long they take to put the meds up and sending them off way down south and we are thinking of doing it as well, so we can get them more promptly, but we’re waiting till my husbands meds are more stable ( they’re adjusting them at the minute).
I know we are very fortunate getting free meds as oldies, but sometimes it seems like the systems need a bit of common sense applying.
