is it possible to find out if a certain person was studying there in the 1950s please

Would imagine the 100yr rule would apply to records unless proof of death is provided.

Why not ring the University & check the rules/procedure

Do you know which college the person was said to have belonged to? I think it would be easier to contact a college about past members. You can find email addresses on the web.
