The school they went to would depend on their religion. If they were catholic they would have gone to St. Francis which was I believe on Mathieson Street, the church and school were side by side, or they might have went to a school in Oatlands, I'm not sure of the name though( if I'm wrong, someone will clarify it ) If they were protestant they could have went to Oatlands, Camden or Hayfield school.
My father was born 1911 on Caledonia Street and went to St. Francis, I was born on South Wellington Street although it changed to Lawmoor Street long before I was born. My mothers grandmother was a Robertson who lived on South York Street although she was born in Helesburgh. I hope this helps.
