Diary summary week ending 23rd March 2025
« on: Monday 17 March 25 00:18 GMT (UK) »
Morning folks, not been much on the diary last week, wasn't a lot happening for me but this week, quite unusually , I have a packed week, 2 sick visits, blood test, hair and meeting my friend who has just returned  home from Brisbane,  that will be a nice  meet up and lunch out, might get time to weald the hoover around!!
My grandson is still on New Zealand , 4 more days then he goes off to Melbourne,  we travelled on a tour to New Zealand  and although he has done the same places he has stayed a few nights at each place so he was able to explore, sent some wonderful pictures.
Jebber hope you are recovering.
Viktoria,  hope your bump on the head is improving.
Take care folks

My goodness LM you’re still up as am I!

Sounds like you have a busy week … Hope you enjoy your catch up with your friend who’s returned from Brisbane. Wonderful to be following your grandsons progress through NZ with lots of pictures.

Usual week for me but following week I’m going to stay with my daughter for a couple of days and we’re going to the Vogue, immersive cat walk event! Also having the new carpet in the hall stairs and landing fitted the day before I go to London!

Hope Viktoria is ok as it’s unusual for her not to post during the week..
Also Jebber maybe home now with any luck as her experience doesn’t sound the best!
Wishing everyone else who has various health issues a better time too… spring is on its way hopefully!

Stay cheerful

Hopefully in a deep sleep now LM and ready for 'top of the mornin' on St Patrick's Day!
We usually recognise it in some form, both my grandads were Irish who emigrated to NZ though sadly I didn't get to meet either of them, paternal b 1870 Belfast, maternal b 1873 Galway and husband has Irish ancestry on his mother's side too. Our girls did a decade of Irish Dancing, starting pre Riverdance era but the interest became greater and more dancers joining through that time, a fair bit of travelling around to competitions and St Patrick's Day was always a dance day going from mass to resthomes and to pubs and clubs etc for performances and parades. They loved it though, great memories  :)

There was a huge display in London on Sunday for St Patrick's day,  very colourful, it looked a if a lot of people in the parade were maybe from Spain or further afield.

Beautiful morning but chilly  we had a few days last week started off in the same way, deceiving  as it is chilly.

RTL, where are you?

I've been to Dublin twice for St. Patrick's day, the parade is absolutely amazing.
Lovely and sunny here today, was cold overnight.

Yes, hope RTL is okay.

Thank you LM and Caroline, today I’m finally home from hospital after four weeks. Had a Five hour wait in the discharge room waiting for hospital transport and a bumpy ride home but at least I’m here.

I surprised everyone, including myself that I was able to walk a little way with a zimmer two days after the sling was removed. It’s extremely painful but I was determined I would do it somehow, the next test is trying to get undressed tonight and getting to the bathroom in the night. The home care sent someone to see me and was surprised I had managed to dress myself this morning. I was determined even if it killed me. ;D I’m now very sore and looking forward to to a night in my own bed.

I have nothing but praise for the staff, their care and attention was first class even though short staffed. Most of the problems were caused by dementia patients, not that they could help it. Had some fun with one particular night nurse, you would have thought we were like kids at boarding school, it made the long painful nights bearable I shall miss her jokes.

I hope Viktoria is getting on alright and not causing mayhem on her scooter.

Best wishes to any of you who are feeling under the weather or have problems. The sun has been shining and warmer weather is on the way so things must get better.🤞

Best wishes for your continued recovery, Jebber :D

After discharge on 2nd March, I had 29 staples removed from head wound and stomach incision a week ago.
Now walking without walker!

Wow good news all round then for Jebber and KG… glad to hear you’re both on the mend..
Good to hear hospital staff are providing such good care in these difficult times too.
Always nice to get home to your own bed too… even after a holiday I look forward to my own bed.
Take care to both of you and Gillg, Viktoria, Mowsehowse and anyone else who’s needing our collective thoughts.
