King Family Puzzle?
« on: Wednesday 12 March 25 13:43 GMT (UK) »
Hello Everyone, i’ve bumped into a issue that’s created a mountain,

So the person in question is Annie Elizabeth King, born 1881 in Llangeinor, Glamorgan and Died in 1911 in Ogmore Vale, Glamorgan,

Annie Elizabeth married Frank Wareham 1878-1958 in Apr 1900

The only census with Annie on pre marriage i found in Llangeinor stated that her parents were William & Caroline king (mmn Powell)

The only birth for the surrounding area has the mmn Powell

In Annie E’s Orbituary, it states that she had Thomas, Charles, Gertrude and Gladys & Albert King as Siblings that attended her funeral

However, all of those children have the mmn as “Stock”, and on the census they’re father is shown as John King not William King, and mother was Mary Ann Stock!

Even more confusing, Mary Ann Stock was a wareham prior to marrying John King, and married Thomas Wareham, and than married John king afterwards,

So no explanation of Annie king’s parents or how the other kids are related to her?

Can anyone help?
Jensen, Perry, Taylor, Waters, Foot, Andrews, Pilcher

William King (Annie E's father ) has a brother John living with the family in 1891. Could he be the John King who married Mary Ann Wareham nee Stock? Are her late husband Thomas Wareham and Frank Wareham related? Big co-incidence it they're not.

Can I clarify your pre marriage census find, please? You name William and Caroline.
I have Ann E King, 10, born Ogmore Vale, with a John and Caroline King at Llangeinor 1n1891.

Looks like Frank Wareham is the son of Henry Wareham and his 3rd wife Matilda Willcox. Henry seems to have married a Miss Dowling (not found marriage yet) and had a son Charles in 1851. Then married Mary Ponton / Ponting on 05 Jul 1852. One of their sons was Henry Thomas who is about the same age as Thomas Wareham who married Mary Ann Stock. 2nd wife died and Henry married Matilda Willcox. If Thomas is actually Henry Thomas then he is Frank Wareham's half brother.

when Lizzie Wareham died in 1918 she's described in the funeral report as  "beloved daughter" of Mr and Mrs King (John and Mary nee Stock, judging by the siblings listed in the report). Frank Wareham is listed as her uncle, along with a Jack Wareham
