Hi, I'm looking for an emigration / immigration / pax list Elsie and her family: she was born in Southampton but died in Canada. Can anyone help me, please, as I cannot locate it?

WHAT I KNOW / WHAT I ALREADY HAVE RECORDS FOR (& don't need anything more on):

Elsie Emily DYMOND b. 1904 Stn, married Michael NORTON in Southampton, Q1 1924.

He was a ship's fireman so would have travelled.

1939 census: whole family is in Aldermoor, Soton. Michael is an asst turbine driver.

Her eldest children Marguerite and Roy were on a WW2 evacuation ship Liverpool-Halifax that was torpedoed in 1940. On their way to stay with Elsie's sister Kathleen. Survived. I have those records.

There was one more child, Sheila, born 1938.

Michael died Southampton 1966.

FindaGrave has Elsie dying in Canada in 1974. Other Anc users have the same, with

WHAT I'D LIKE TO FIND:

Any emigration/immigration or passenger list record for Elsie after 1939, not inc. the 1940 one of her two eldest children mentioned above.

NB: Anc has an index for obit of Marguerite: perhaps it mentions when she came to Canada? I cannot access it though.

I do not know if it was before or after her husband's death in 1966.

I have searched FindMyPast and Anc inc. for the children's names.

Thank you. Can’t delete the image. Will try again on another device.

Thanks for the newspaper record. Not informative for my objective though, but I appreciate you posting the link.

Still looking for an emigration record

This link should explain what records are available for the time frame you are looking at. It looks like there are no publicly available records after 1935. Scroll down to the section Immigration Records after 1935 for info about how to access them.

British Home Children are very special.

The '24 border crossing (Canada - US) on FindMyPast looks promising - were it only possible to read the original.

Correction - think I've spotted "Nationality Canadian" + wrong time frame!!

Thanks for this: so Elsie’s daughter and family went 1958.

Her husband died in Soton in 1966.

I wonder if she therefore went to join Marguerite as a widow after 1966 and then died in Canada a few years later?
