The son was 'adopted' by the congregational missionaries in Farquhar St and named after their ordaining minister James Gawthorne of DerbyUK. Where can I find records of the murder and execution? Also, any letters or records of the naming of James Gawthorne?
These events happened in the period 1830-1850, I think.
