Samuel Lavery Labour Corp.
« on: Thursday 27 February 25 21:01 GMT (UK) »
I was wondering if some with access to Fold3 could possibly access a pension or any other record for Samuel. The hint was on my ancestry tree.
Samuel Lavery
Labour Corp.
Service no. 108871
Discharged 23/12/1919

Samuel was my Gt.Gt.Uncle born 1864 in Ballycessy Co.Antrim. I found his birth registration and then nothing until 1911 Irish census when he was residing at 136 Argyle Street, Belfast with his brother and sister-in-law Joseph and Jane Anna Lavery. He was still at this address in 1912 when he signed the Ulster Convenant.
It would be great if this was his war record which could perhaps unearth a few more hints about him.

Many thanks,
Geraldine

Born in 1864 would have made him too old for WW1 service.

I agree with Jim1 that he would have been too old for service in WW1.

Having said that, there maybe a connection to your family. The Samuel Lavery that you were asking about, married in 1915 and he died on the 23/12/1919. A couple of pension records show that his widow, Sarah Ann, was living at 138 Argyll Street, Belfast - you mentioned that his brother lived at 136 Argyll Street in 1911.

Thanks Jim1. AllanUK said this Samuel was married in 1915. Do you know if the records gave an actual date?
