Christmas Match Harvest
« on: Wednesday 26 February 25 11:38 GMT (UK) »

Its that time of year when the Ancestry DNA gifts begin to bear fruit and it seems to me that a lot of kits were gifted this time!!  New daily "close" or at least worthy of investigation matches every day this week.

One match at about 70cM has popped up. And checking back every few days and there's always more in about the 17cM+ range. Nothing groundbreaking though.

Is there a point when new tests start to tapper off after Christmas?

Last year it had already started to slowdown for me by mid Feb but this year that's when it started picking up (I did have a 10 day streak in early Feb with none at all). There have been two sales of kits at £49 since xmas that might prolong the matches a bit this time around with the most recent due to end today (28th of Feb), but the price of this last offer was going up to the usual full price when people added to their basket.
