Hi,
I too have been looking at the ASUS Web Site.
This seems to be possibly one of these long and painful investigations that have no solution.
Before I get in to suggestions, you comment,
There is a feature to test them and it works.
It is not clear whether you mean the speakers or the headphones, can you clarify?
After much searching I found the R410UA on the ASUS web site.
It seems to be fairly elderly 2019 and the support section only gives Windows 10 drivers, with a fairly elderly V6.xx Realtek Driver.
There seem to be quite a few people having issues over the years with ASUS sound on laptops.
One specifically mentioned when upgrading from Windows 10 to 11.
That being said, ASUS do seem to have a fairly good stepwise diagnostic process on their web site, and a couple of Apps that automate the driver update process and also suggest reaching out to them if this does not work. Have you tried reaching out to them?
If you are not comfortable with diving in to the guts of Windows drivers and the Bios then I would suggest doing as Biggles50 suggests and taking it to a local specialist.
However, it may be a quick fix but this is the kind of investigation I can quite see taking several hours, and may be insoluble.
You don’t seem to be alone with this issue, it could be Microsoft generated.
The fact that you report that it does not report internal speakers suggests something is turned off somewhere, Sicily question, I know, but looking at a picture of the keyboard, have you tried the Fn F10 key to turn the sound off and on? Silly things like this can really work some times.
Finally it is a 7 year old laptop, if you can’t live with using the headphones, that seem to magically work now, perhaps a replacement is required.
Microsoft seems to be very keen on sending older PC’s to the skip at the moment.
Finally, if you know someone who has the skills and you don’t have windows only software, Linux might keep it alive for a bit longer.
Sorry not to have given a magic solution.
