I am having difficulty finding baptism of John Lahey/Lahay/Leahy born in Middlesbrough between 1867-1869 son of Jeremiah and Ellen.
Some of his siblings were baptised at the Old Roman Catholic Cathedral in Middlesbrough but I can't find his baptism. Any help would be appreciated. thank you

Googling it appears that the Cathedral was not built around the time he was born  :-\

The old cathedral was in Sussex Street Middlesbrough when that closed ( not sure of the date) a new cathedral was built in Coulby Newham on the outskirts of the town. My ancestors were definatley baptised in the old cathedral.
The old cathedral ceased being used in the late 1970's and burnt down May 2000. The new cathedral opened in the 1980's.

Thank you for your interest

Find my Past has Middlesbrough diocesan records
https://www.findmypast.co.uk/blog/new/findmypast-friday-january-18th-2019

I can see these with father Jeremiah in the indexes - Middlesbrough Old Cathedral
Jeremia, 1872
Margarita, 1876
Sarah, 1875
The records are probably in Latin.

I know that Jeremiah and Ellen were together in 1871 but they married later.
They may not have lived in that parish when John was born, or John may have been baptised in Ellen’s surname but I can’t see anything likely.

It might be worth getting that found birth record to see if it is John and check the address.

Is this his birth - June qtr 1868
LAHEY    John
Mothers maiden surname Currigan
Stockton    10a   72

Just checking again, and there is a tree with parents John Lahey and Catherine Kerrigan.
I would think this is this John’s birth.
