Robert Jephson Peed

Hi,

I am trying to find some details of a marriage of Robert Jepshon Peed in 1872 to Sophia Necond or Nicond. This took place in New South Wales but other than the national registration index listing it as in Sydney Reg No 160, I cannot trace any other records or newspaper report. PDFs of this marriage are not available.

Does anyone know anything about this marriage? Robert had been married before to Ann Margaret Drury in 1867 in Dublin Ireland so I guess Robert must have been a widower by 1872.

Yes, a PDF  IS available - but not for immediate download, because nobody has ever requested it before. You have to put in an order for it. You can alternatively ask a transcription agent to copy it for you - the most economical way.

The marriage took place on 10 February 1872.

Robert is listed in New South Wales, Australia, Government Gazettes, published 1882. p20 (I think this is the page number for a list of registrations and certificates of doctors)

(I'm assuming this means he was gained a Licence of the Irish College of surgeons in 1867 and was granted a certificate to practise in NSW in 1872)

Perhaps he was back and forth from England to Australia because in 1883, his address was Tasmania.

Sorry a post seems to have disappeared and I can't find the reference - will put it in later if I find it!

Robert was listed as being employed at a facility in Ireland with the same professional qualifications as already shown.  The item of interest in that record was a note on the record saying "late ship's surgeon' which may account for his comings and goings.
