Thank you, Sandra for these absolutely amazing and information filled articles. That Irvine name certainly went down through the ages. The first time I found Irvine was John Caldwell Johnston’s maternal great grandfather Irvine Bleakley/Blackley in Ireland although the family found their way to Scotland and then many of them in the John Caldwell Johnston and his siblings family made their way to Yonkers and New Jersey. Many of them did very well for themselves financially as shown by these articles.
I still haven’t figured out the connection of Elizabeth Logan nee Johnston in New Jersey to John Caldwell Johnston, but I am sure it is there. She did find her way to Yonkers as well where she died August 22, 1913.
I think I will phone Oakland again to see who is buried with Irvine Johnston, who died in 1917 as I think that death is possibly John Caldwell Johnston’s brother though there were other Irvine Johnstons about.
I can’t thank you enough for all the help you have given me, Sandra.
Oh, I see you have now found the deaths of William and his wife Annie. You are incredible. I will now see if I can find out the names of his parents which may break everything open.
