MS Paint or just Paint
« on: Thursday 13 February 25 14:13 GMT (UK) »
Hello All,

I have used MS Paint (now just called Paint) to draw coats of arms. At the last Windows 11 update, Paint has developed a glitch.

I take a white (or any other colour) background and place a 1 pixel black dot on it in a random position. If I want to change that 1 pixel to red and use the pencil tool, no problem.

If, on the other hand, I use the Fill tool, it will draw a line from that pixel straight to the left margin. If, instead of 1 pixel, I have a horizontal line of 2 pixels or more, it does the same.

If, I have a vertical line, no problem.

If there is a horizontal line, with 1 pixel added vertically anywhere along its length, all is fine.

Only in this one instance does fill create a line - when it sees the area to be filled is only 1 pixel high.

Is anyone else having this problem? Or, does anybody know of another graphics program that has the exact same functions as the original MS Paint. It can have more, but needs to have all the existing ones.

Thank you in advance.

Regards

@RJ_Paton - Thank you, thank you, a thousand times over. I cannot thank you enough!  JSPaint is just what I want and need. Back to work now, with a program I know and love.
Thanks again.

Best Regards

(102, 102, 102)][/size]Latest update!

Windows did one of those 3 minute updates last Wednesday. Lo and Behold! - Paint is back to normal. I am still using the original MS Paint at times, because it has the original shrink/enlarge feature.

Thanks again RJ_Paton
