Hi
Im looking to find the parents of John Scott birth 1794 High Hoyland Yorkshire. I know he married sarah Littlewood in June 1824 in all saints Silkstone Yorkshire. Any other information like siblings or children would be amazing thank you so much.

Re children - are there any with him & Sarah on the 1841 census?
Which census did you get his birthplace from?
Have you checked

1851 has 17 entries b 1792 - 1796 - none with a birthplace of High Hoyland. Only one has a wife Sarah
1841 does not give birthplaces

There was a John Scott baptised on either 26th Jan 1794 or 1796 (the Parish Register film is not clear). Location -- Clayton West with High Hoyland.
Parents John Scott, a Weaver - and Mary. Abode Clayton.
Places of interest;
Lancashire, West Yorkshire, Southern Ireland, Scotland.

Banns of marriage of John Scott and Mary Hinchcliff were published in the same location in April 1778.
Both described as 'of this Parish'.
This is very odd though as the only other baptism I can find to John's parents at this location was a Hannah Scott on 8th March 1791. (Clayton with High Hoyland).
Hence there is a long gap between the marriage of John's parents and them having children.
Possibly the wrong parents.
Places of interest;
Lancashire, West Yorkshire, Southern Ireland, Scotland.
