I don’t understand where the link is from the family amondg has posted to Lancashire, though.
In your earlier post, James, you wrote:
“My g.grandfather was Harry Riley [1904 - 27/02/1981]
My g.g.grandfather was Henry Riley who married Sarah Annie (Riley) in the 1920's”
Your great great grandfather would not be marrying in the 1920s, if his son, your great grandfather was born in 1904. Unless, of course, it was a second marriage.
Also, in this thread, you say your gt gt grandfather, Henry Riley was born 1886.
Do you have him in a census with his son, your ancestor?
Thank you for you message, no I haven't managed to find his census data yet, I asked my granparents for information and they were only able to give me a few pieces of info.
Henry Riley (they didn't know how his parents or his date of birth) only that he was married in the 1920s to Sarah Annie Riley. Henry had 8 siblings, 5 died, leaving two brothers and a sister. henry had two sons:
Walter Riley b.1913 d.1942 (died in WW2 Laconia Incident)
Harry Riley b.1904 d. Feb 27th 1981
They lived in Lancashire and had ancestors that lived in Accrington/Burnley area.
I'm going to talk through this feedback with my family later this week, as now I'm not sure if that Henry Riley in the attached family tree is my g.g.grandfather for certain. I'm going to see if I can find my grandfather's birth certificate and then find his father's birth certificate and so on. I did try this at an earlier date but didn't have much luck.
I've attached a page from Walter Riley's military record, on it you can see his mother is Mrs S. A. Riley, living at the address: 110 King St. Stretford, Manchester, as of 07/07/1940. He was a shop assistant in London. He was Born in Burnley, West Ward, lancashire on 03/07/1913 (note: that address no longer exists as of 1963 after the ww2 Blitz, the area was decimated and the council decided to build an arndale center over the area.)
