In your earlier post, James, you wrote:

Your great great grandfather would not be marrying in the 1920s, if his son, your great grandfather was born in 1904. Unless, of course, it was a second marriage.

Also, in this thread, you say your gt gt grandfather, Henry Riley was born 1886.
Do you have him in a census with his son, your ancestor?

sorry I'm new to family trees. it's probably unconnected but I think my family may  have an  Isobel Riley ancestor. mum's mother Ethel
Mary Hallewell  ne Knowles (think her mum's  maiden name miss Shaw) was  from Oswaldtwistle Lancashire. she married Reginald Hallewell in 1938 but in their chemist records the business got recorded as Reginald hollowell one time and I see that surname on your tree.

I am so very doubtful of this connection as you may gather, amondg.

James states that Henry b 1886 is his ancestor.

register.
Ten years younger than than the Henry Arthur son of Edward/Edwin and Lydia reg 1885 Lambeth.

Henry Arthur Riley is with his family 1901 at 6 Baker Street, Clerkenwell age 16.

I think he is the Henry Arthur Riley who married Ellen Anderson 12 November 1904 at Emmanuel, Hornsey Road.

He says he is 22 (a carpet planner) but really 19 his father is Henry Riley- Book Binder this could be another fib.
His father Edwin was a Book Binder the witnesses are both from her family Richard Anderson and Alfred Anderson, her father being Alfred.

1939 he is in Hendon Middlesex with a DOB of 27 April 1885 which ties in with the Riley/Mackenzie birth 1885.
His wife Ellen/Nellie was born 11 March 1884.
