Thomas McClelland 1907
« on: Wednesday 22 January 25 00:34 GMT (UK) »
Hi everyone, I’ve been looking to find information on an ancestor but seem to be drawing a blank.

Thomas McClelland born 26/09/1907 I believe in Co Down, NI; to father Thomas McClelland born 1881, and mother Susan Murphy born 1881.

I know that Thomas (1907) had 3 siblings, Mary b.1906, Margaret b.1910, and John J b.1915-1997.

The only real information I have on Thomas is that he worked as an assistant motor mechanic for the RNLI and won bronze medals in 1942 for the rescue of 39 people from the Browning.

The 1911 census for King Street, Newcastle, Co Down lists him as a 3 year old.

He resigned from the RNLI on 15/08/1944.

Any help would be massively appreciated. There must be more to know and stories to tell, I just can’t find them!

Sadly his death in 1870, but choice of two Henry Murphy deaths. Currently deaths 1864-1870 are not available to view on the irishgenealogy.ie website.
