Ada Louisa Smith- Midlands Area Tasmania
« on: Wednesday 22 January 25 00:20 GMT (UK) »
Hello Rootschat Members
I am seeking information on Ada Louisa/Louise Smith possibly born in the Midlands area of Tasmania.
Parents' names would be helpful.
Mother to Frederick Raymond Smith born 23 November 1907 in Kempton, Tasmania.
No father recorded. Frederick Raymond went on to marry Lilliam Isabel Manser.
Thank you in advance
Tim Cordwell

You have posted in the Resources and Offers board, I'll ask a moderator to move your post to the general Australia Board.  :)

There is this death of Ada Louisa SMITH aged 27-28 in 1915  - is this your Ada?

Looks like John SMITH was worried about his name - warning shopkeepers etc of giving credit in his name

Thank you Maddy and Sue
I think you might be right about Ada's Parents being Frances and John. Frances Smith was listed as a next of kin on Frederick's enlistment papers.

Yes, looking at his service record it has Frances SMITH, grandmother, of Kempton, as next of kin.

John SMITH (wid, 43, shepherd) married Frances SIMPSON (23) 18 May 1878 at Brighton. Congregational Church.
