Viktoria at the risk of sounding like I’m just following the latest fad, if you are thinking of replacing your little oven, have you considered an air fryer?  My sister got one to use while her kitchen was being refitted and I was very impressed so got one myself.  OH was extremely sceptical about them but now uses it all the time.  I think the problem is the name fryer is very misleading, it’s just like a little oven for reheating, roasting, etc. Does an amazing job cooking fish such as salmon and no pre-heating time like a conventional oven.

I’m not on commission by the way but I am a genuine convert  ;D

Can sympathise with LM on washing machine issues, I bought Hotpoint for years and was always happy with them and found the price/lifespan ratio reasonable. When my last Hotpoint died OH talked me into getting a really expensive make that that would supposedly last a lifetime and I hate it.  Bounces all round the kitchen (slight exaggeration), engineer said it needs to be on a solid floor, well my previous Hotpoints were in exactly the same position and just hummed away nicely when in use.

Pinetree, that is exactly  the problem I had with my previous washing machine, almost whizzed across the kitchen,  when purchasing  the current one my daughter suggested I asked for one that is compatible  with wood flooring,  original floor boards, well I forgot or she didn't tell me in time , we actually  purchased an inflatable  bag made for this problem that went under the work surface on top of the machine, think it helped,  don't  need it now,  but nevertheless  it should have lasted longer  than 3yrs 9 months, the cost of new  bearings was almost as much as a new machine but this one I hope I have chosen wisely,  as the engineer said a Maserati compared the the Cortina he called the last one, I told him in the past we had 3 Cortinas and never had a problem , hope this one last longer than just under 4 years .

Take care everyone.

Well a monster truck has just been delivered!
I will surely need several big tattoos before I can drive it!
It has grown—- presently in son’s back garden as mine being the end house with side gate access it is vulnerable .
Gosh it was fast but the speed can be set by a button so that is modified now.
Need ramps to access my garden too as it is down two steps, son’s is level .
Eldest son is there ,they are playing with it!
Need a haircut ,must book an appointment ,no parking for the scooter as a steep garden front only accessed by a lot of small steps so no scooter access there.
Not far away but I have no idea if I can manage even that.distance.

Son is at Head Office again shortly so I need to get an appointment booked very soon so I get there AND back O.K and if not he will pick me up to get home.

Didn’t watch Trump’s Inauguration Ceremony much, his mouth distorts when he speaks ,I can’t believe him at all.
Already fighting talk about reclaiming The Panama Canal from China. How did they get it ?It was “ given “ to Panama !

Hope washing machines get sorted out ,I won’t mention mine in case it gets stroppy and goes on strike!

Well things to do etc.
Look after yourselves folks, thanks for the news and I hope the many problems that beset you are soon resolved .
Cheerio.Viktoria.

Hello again -a very long time since I last posted but still pop in and read the threads from time to time.   Various health issues over past couple of years which I won't bore you with (dismal enough with the weather) but ongoing suffering with neck problem.  As a result of this have not driven for 2 years - still hoping things might improve somewhat.  Ever the optimist!  See a physiotherapist and have exercises to do but not helping that much.  Told the root cause is osteo arthritis in my neck which can't be cured only treated with exercise.   Oh the joys of growing old.

You may remember my niece had twins during the pandemic - twin girls, Macy and Darcy, born 1st December 2020.   They are now 4 and so different, like chalk and cheese.  Macy is all things girly and a real little diva, very outgoing and confident.  Darcy much quieter and into all things boyish.  Loves cars, trains, anything mechanical and building things.  This month they've started classes on a Saturday morning - Macy to ballet (with Mum) and Darcy to football (with Dad)!  Love them to pieces, bless them.

I hate the cold so much in the winter and only venture out when I have to.  Looking forward to Spring - can't come quick enough for me.

Best wishes to you all.

Good to hear from you again Annette, sorry to hear of your health problems, I hope your exercises start to help. I remember well your posts about the twins, good to hear they're thriving.   :)

Amber weather warning here for tomorrow, I've put my bins in the garage so they don't take a walk, particularly during the night, it's not great lying awake listening to them banging around having a party! Even worse forecast for Northern Ireland and Scotland where they have a red weather warning.

Viktoria  - amber warning for your area too, get your son to batten down the hatches!

Stay safe everyone.

Good afternoon all
On Tuesday I did a full diary on here and all of a sudden it disappeared,  happened once before, so I left it for awhile.

It has been an awful day here,  rained most of the day and has been really miserable

Viktoria, hope all Is well with you sorting the undercover home for the scooter,  take care when out specially this weekend,  have you a waterproof hoodie if the weather is bad?.

Annette, so pleased you are onboard again, I did enjoy hearing about your twins, isn't it strange that twin sister have such diverse hobbies,  one of our other RCers has twins in their family, they might be interested in how diverse your 2 grandchildren  are, I find it quite interesting, I always speak to any mother  with twins, as I have said before I am a twin, and no, we didn't have the same hobbies, my other half is a boy!!
Annette take care with your health.

Take care all who  might be affected with the weather this weekend.
