 Morning  folks
Very dull and dismal, still got lights on it is so dull.

Unbelievable that this weekend will be almost the end of the first month, someone on the radio said it was the longest month but it can't be , other months have 31 days, I remember the days when we  had our monthy pay cheques paid just before Christmas , then we had to wait till the last day of January for the next pay cheque , that was what I called a longest month.

Two birthdays this week,  my daughter and granddaughter , not sure what they are planning if it includes us,  there was talk of a Thai restaurant but not sure if we will go.

Hope everyone is feeling happier this week, weather and healthwise.

Take care, keep warm

The days lengthen a fraction as January goes on, thank goodness, but the dull weather doesn't really reflect this.  Damp and dark today, with threats of stormy weather later in the week.

I rather think the time has come for me to speak to my consultant's secretary again to find out where I now stand on his list.  They keep putting me off with feeble excuses.  Last time they said that an important member of the "team" was ill, so it could be another two months to wait.  That brings us round to February, and we're nearly there, so time to get a bit more aggressive. I wish I was more like my sister-in-law, who will talk her way persuasively into or out of any situation!  "Be positive" is her motto.

The weather here has been nothing less than abysmal last week and this one’s not starting much better..the only thing is could it get any worse.. maybe!
some of the spring flowers are already out.. our little aconites that are a blaze of yellow surround the Sycamore tree in our front garden and make me smile everytime I venture outside. The hellebores little heads are nodding giving more colour so I’m thankful for small things!
Having spoken to my brother in Canada last week they are surrounded by snow, looks so pretty but it doesn’t stop them venturing out or indeed driving quite long distances.. the difference between a country that can cope and ours that gets in a flap at every turn when it’s not perfect!

This month I have 5 birthdays.. gt niece in Singapore, friends 80th and three others.. next month have 2nd grandsons who’ll be 9 and 3 others.. and so it goes throughout the year..

Hope you get some answers Gillg, I think one has to be strong and put oneself above others to make sure you get the treatment you’ve been waiting for.. it’s not easy and seems to vary from one area to another. We are very fortunate with our GP’s surgery and have the benefit of three+ excellent hospitals in our area .. not that I’m looking to be venturing anywhere near one at the moment!

I’m sure Viktoria you’ll be zooming around on your new scooter very soon and the new stair lift will be a great boost for you. Good luck with all your medical issues too.. good job you’re on the ball.

Well must get on with the usual exciting things one does!

Take care all, stay warm, positive and healthy

Why is there never a second in command?, so often i hear ops can't take place because the surgeon  or consultant is ill or on holiday, surely there is a second in command?

It just feels like the longest month because the weather is so dreary, but cheer up, the shortest month follows, unfortunately known in the countryside as February Fill-Dyke.  Haven't we had enough rain? ::)

Today is Blue Monday so I guess it's not just Rootschatters who are feeling dismal. Gloomy weather here too, drizzly although not quite as cold as yesterday, that was perishing!

We have just had the most strong orange sun I have ever seen, a most beautiful sky, in fact I felt it quite dangerous driving but it was nice to see.

I am not downhearted folks

Oh that is good K.G.
Keeping warm is a real luxury yet also a necessity especially for people not in the first flush on youth.like me!
I have no idea of your age so am trying to be tactful!

My little Russel zHobbs mini oven is dying!
Burning or undercooking ——- it is about seven years old, very handy for just one or even two .
Worth getting a replacement .

Well an early night, not an exact time for mobility scooter delivery so,must be up early.
Not sure where it will go —— needs sheltering but need to see it first .

Best wishes to those unwell for some improvement , you sound very stoical to me.
