Looking for marriage details for Esther Emerson who was born in Weardale UK in 1918 and died on 14 May 2003 in USA. Married name probably Rodgers. Also any marriage details for Esther's brother Joseph Emerson born 1920 in Weardale and also died 2003 in Maricopa, Arizona. Headstone would appear to indicate he was married

Joseph married Florence Mary Partridge on 22 Apr. 1945 in Washington, DC.

Florence's petition for naturalization says she was born 6. Jan. 1921 in Burks Falls, Ontario, Canada and mentions Joseph being born St. John's Chapel, England on 22 May 1920.  The marriage date/place fits with the one I found above. It also says Joseph was naturalized at Mineola, NY on 23 Apr. 1954.  They were living in Scottsdale, Arizona at the time of Florence's petition for naturalization.

The Social Security death index says that she was born 27 Aug 1918, died 14 May 2003, and her Social Security number was issued in California in 1967, but the location given for last residence was U.S. Consulate, London, United Kingdom, so that probably means she was living in the UK then.

Joseph travelled on the Queen Elizabeth to New York occupation stated as Government Official for The Foreign Office 22/4/1945 aged 25 yrs, and already married. Other document shows him arriving in NY 29/4/1943 before he married. There are trees online as well with photographs of Esther and George, and also Joseph and Florence on their wedding day.
