Hi,

It could be that (without having looked into it specifically) the record you are searching for may not exist. Records were often poorly kept around the time of the Civil War and it could be that for whatever reason the entry was either missed, or perhaps the page it was on has been damaged or lost. From my experience I find there is a degree of luck involved with records from this period and earlier. If you think either is definitely from Gateshead parish it would probably be best to go and consult the original registers and scan the years you are interested in, as there may be siblings or you may even find the person you are looking for.

For Robert Thompson, there is a baptism in 1658 in the Gateshead area on Durham Records Online but you'd have to pay to see the transcript, it could be in a parish nearby but not Gateshead itself. With a name like Robert Thompson I think the most pressing issue is that there will be a lot of people by the same name in that part of the world, so differentiating which is your ancestor could be tricky if not impossible.

I couldn't find anything at a glance for Susannah.
