Several people on here have done them.  Only you can answer whether it is worth doing it after you have given it a go.  We all have our opinions as to whether educating ourselves about something we are interested in was worth the effort.

I took one years ago, I found it very worthwhile as amongst gaining other knowledge I was told about Rootschat.

The rest is (family) history.  ;D
Bell, Salter, Street - Devon, Middlesbrough.

I took a Future Learn short course a few years ago and was very disappointed.  One of the lecturers just read from his notes and never looked up at the camera at all, appearing rather bored by the whole thing.  I didn't find the course very informative and it seemed to have been stitched together from various lectures and bits and pieces.  Maybe as a beginner it might have helped, but by the time I joined the course I had had quite a bit of experience in researching.

My experience was similar.
Garrad (Suffolk, Essex, Somerset), Crocker (Somerset), Vanstone (Devon, Jersey), Sims (Wiltshire), Bridger (Kent)
