Morris Ap Robert (Morris Roberts)
« on: Sunday 05 January 25 17:33 GMT (UK) »
Hi,

I've managed to work back my family tree to a Morris Ap Robert (Morris Roberts) who I am lead to believe was quite a reknownd poet/bard around the 1700s. There is a decent amount of info on the internet about him, but I am struggling to find out how many children he had. I have found records for two of his daughters Margaret Morris ( who marries a Calvinistic minister John Evans in 1744 ) and Bridget Morris who marries my direct relative Humphrey Edwards ( who was also a calvinistic exhorter ). There are some suggestions that there are more children, one an Edward Thomas Morris who was a furniture maker, but can't find any birth records for him. Around this time it looks like Baptism records at Llanycil are in Latin? so I am seeing a few different spellings.  If anyone could point me to a place which might have a view on the number and names of his offspring I would be eternally thankful.

Also in his bio, he is stated as being from Tynllidiart, Llanuwchllyn. He later went and lived in Bala I believe. But does anyone know where Tynllidiart was/is?

Diolch

This is the Tithe Map for Llanuwchllyn . 1839. These are the apportionment pages.
It is well written,  you may find the place you are looking for .
If you do, then you can take the details down and then do a search for the plot on the main search page.
It's not as complicated as it sounds.
Good luck.

Many thanks, I will take a look, hopefully it will show up, but I know he died in 1723, so over 100 years before this tithe book. Who knows? I will post back if I spot it!!
