We watched Jools Holland too and found it also full of too many old has been! We saw him live in Amsterdam some years ago as we had free tickets supplied by Chris Storr one of his trumpet players whose a friend…

Took all the cards down yesterday, checked for any who I had not sent to and vice versa, then put away safely .

This morning Postman Pat delivered another one. So what? you might conjecture. Well although properly addressed complete with post code there was no franking mark on the envelope by Royal Mail, or whoever it is these days. The stamp, 2nd class, suggests from Scotland as there is a picture annotated Edinburgh. Inside the card was no message or indication who had sent it.

I have very few contacts in Scotland but was able to check with the handwriting on a letter received last year, but I could find no significant similarities in the handwriting between the envelope and last year's letter.
Very puzzling. No doubt there may be some enlightenment in the future, but again it could remain a total mystery.

RJ the 2024 Christmas stamps celebrated UK cathedrals with the second class one featuring Edinburgh, so if it was one of those it could have been from anywhere in UK not necessarily Scotland. :)

Pinetree, that solves a problem, I received a card with a Scottish stamp from someone who is nowhere near Scotland , because j had a batch of stamps I didn't need to buy Christmas stamps so the penny didn't drop,  the person was living Scilly isles in September

Obviously Edinburgh is a wonderful cathedral in a beautiful city but it did seem a tad disloyal using the stamps on my Christmas cards being posted in York!  ;D

I always buy Christmas stamps  but I bought quite a few when it was suggested the price would increase, it didn't for second class , so I had quite a few to use.
