Grave location wanted please
« on: Sunday 29 December 24 00:14 GMT (UK) »
I am trying to find my grandads grave I thought I found it previously but can't find info now.

Philip or Phillip peter o'neill born 1911 and died 1971 it says he died in Prescot was born in Liverpool married to Mary Jane née Thomas

Found her grave and Stanley they are together in Toxteth

No where can I find a burial record for him anywhere in UK or rest of world.

I'm in Liverpool for a few days and plan to visit graves and streets where my dad grew up

Any help greatly appreciated

Thank you so much

It was the spelling of his first name I was unsure of.

How can I find his grave without searching whole graveyard?

I am new to researching family and its such a minefield does anyone have any pointers please I have limited information and no one in the family to ask.

Thank you

Hi
Welcome to Rootschat.
Perhaps ozranga will be able to have another look for you? She also posts on the long running Ford & Yew Tree Cemetery Records thread
https://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=651292.1710

I'm not sure if you can enquire about grave details at the cemetery.
John

Hi,
this was weird.
still not listed in the index [checked Oneill, O'Neill, ONeil, O'Neill, Neil, & Neill ] but saw an 'unnamed O'Neill' in Yew tree.
The unnamed was a stillborn baby in "section not known" and further up the fiche was :
Phillip Peter O'Neill, died 15 Kempsall Walk L26, age 60. interred 11/6/1971. Section  not known.
Most all of the other interments there  are stillborn babies, with the odd adult.
Maybe there might be funeral Director records?
Or the cemetery office?
sorry cannot help more

Welcome to RootscChat Steph8769.

Looking at the database in Ancestry and choosing to 'browse' the images for Catholic Burials, though the dates for Ford go up to 1985, those for Yew Tree seem to stop at 1965.

The funeral directors named in the newspaper notice are still in business and their address and phone number are on their websiteSteph8769
The funeral directors in the death notice John posted are still in business and their address and phone number are on their website:

https://www.dignityfunerals.co.uk/funeral-directors/locations/england/merseyside/liverpool/6-smithdown-road

I don't know if they would be able to help but it may be worth a visit/phone call to enquire.

That's my grandad I'm sure he would have ended up being buried at the expense of the council as my family were dirt poor

There was a death of William o'neill he died at 11 months old 1930/1931

I'm sure I did find grave details for him a few years ago but now there is no record of Philip being buried or cremated anywhere in UK

It's like he died and vanished into thin air
