Buchanan help required

Just a thought. The son Robert jnr was born 1831 so perhaps you would expect to see the father listed in Glasgow.  Here is the  1830 - 1831 Post Office Annual Glasgow Directory which has a few Robert Buchanan listed.

Do you know what the occupation was ?

Hi Sandra,
Thanks for your reply, he obviously lived in St Thomas, Virgin Islands for a while, so i am assuming Robert Snr was possibly a West Indies sugar/tobacco merchant.

Here is what i have so far

I used their maiden names at the start, i knew about the Wilson marriage and have all the details. Ann Elizabeth did not marry. I also have the marriage of Catherine Elizabeth Buchanan to Alexander Buchanan etc

So you actually had quite a lot more information than you initially said, and several of us have wasted our time duplicating what you already knew.

Yes, i have seen this, good find, however, making sure i have the correct person is another thing. I will keep searching.

My apologies, i listed the whole family in good faith to let people see the whole picture. However, i did mention the people i was stuck on.

(The main sticking point is trying to find Maria Elizabeth Briggs DoB, where born and when and where married. Also details of their first child Catherine Elizabeth Buchanan, when and where born. As well as Robert Snr.)

I will make sure that i only list the people who require research in future.
