Occupation help?
« on: Wednesday 25 December 24 01:33 GMT (UK) »
Hi, I'm struggling to read the occupation of Frank Connelly and William Raeburn. For Frank, it says 'Dyer' but I can't interpret the words after that and for William, it says 'Yarn' but struggling with the next word. Any help would be great?

Beamer
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beamer_(occupation)

Definitely for  William, but I can't see Beamer for Frank.  However I am prepared to be corrected!

I just can't see the first letter in Frank's second occupation word as a B.   :-\ :-\ :-\   Is it?

Look at the very clear B in the word Bachelor by the same scribe, two lines below.
Gaunt, Ransom, McNally, Stanfield, Kimberley. (Tasmania)

I think they are both Beamer. For what it is worth.

I agree with Wiggy, I don’t see the word Beamer, I think it says cleaner. The first letter of the word isn’t at all like the ‘b’ as written elsewhere on the page.

Here is the occupation dyer and cleaner in the Dictionary of Occupational Terms.
