Yes

Not born a Robinson but either married a Robinson or she has the same maiden name as his wife

Would be good to find Jane's surname but I have not yet found either Birth or Marriage record

Another thing to mention is that back then "in law" was also used for a step relative

Hi
It looks Margaret Yale was the Margaret Leighton who married John Yale in 1796 .His sister Elizabeth seems to have married William Robinson 9.10.1786 at Wrockwardine .She is indexed as Gale but seems to sign as Yale. William couldn't sign his own name so wouldn't have noticed. She dies before him 12.4.1805 at Wrockwardine age 42.
They didn't have any children and it wasn't a second marriage for William Robinson who describes himself as a bachelor from Lilleshall.
He was actually baptised 14.11.1765 at Madeley s of Griffin and Elizabeth Robinson nee Turner a taylor. Brother Benjamin bapt 17.4.1770 Lilleshall .Benjamin was buried at Wrockwardine 29.4.1838 age 67 years.

I think your William and Jane are another couple.
They only have the one child at Wellington . Mary born 1786.
There is a William Robinson buried at Wellington 9.1.1788 age 24.
You have Jane buried 8.1.1801 also at Wellington age 40. So about the right age.
I think William was from Much Wenlock.
William s of Mary Robinson 7.1.1762 .
It would mean Mary was named after her grandmother.

I can't see a marriage but I bet it was fairly recently before Mary was born 1786.

Best I can do just using online records.

Hi

Ciderdrinker

Thank you for the information

I , too, had come to the likely conclusion that there were two William Robertsons, thanks for confirming it.

I think that the William Robinson will belongs to another line.
Mine is the William and Jane line . Their Daughter, Mary, married Samuel Martin and moved to Sedgley in the West Midlands dying in 1857.

not sure about your William d 9 1 1788. I have a William d 21 April 1832 of Trench , Wrockwardine.
Though your date could explain why Mary was an only child.

I will see if I can find anything about Mary Robinson 7.1.1762

Thank you for your help, I think it has shown that the William and Jane line is almost certainly the correct one. But as usual one problem solved leads to another one

Thanks again

Best wishes
