Hello all

I'm looking for information re; Alfred Edwin Jones, born in Wolverhampton, Jan,Feb, Mar. 1876.
Parents Alfred Jones (1853-1899), & Florence Stone (1856-1929), both of Wolverhampton, and married at St.Luke, Wolverhampton on 11 Feb, 1877.
I take it that Alfred Edwin was born out of wedlock, although his parents were soon to marry, I assume baby Alfred being named after Alfred Jones his father, and Edwin after Florence's father, Edwin Stone, who died in 1869.
I have Geneanet information and a birth registration, but scant other evidence for his birth, other than 6b, page 56, ..although an 1893 marriage to Roseannah Watkins records his parents as Alfred Jones and Florence Stone, born in Wolverhampton.
On the 1911 census, Alfred Edwin had changed his name to 'Alfred Stephen Jones', although I take this as an enumerator error.
Another son, Albert Edward was born to Alfred and Florence Jones in the last quarter 1877, at Wolverhampton. He does appear on the 1881 and 1891 census as being part of the Alfred Jones household, whereas Alfred Edwin does not. Albert married Fanny Haines in 1899.
I cannot find a 4 year old Alfred Edwin Jones in the 1881 census, although it would not be outside the realm of possibility that young Alfred may have been staying with relatives, or in Hospital, etc.
I guess what I need is further confirmation of Alfred Edwin's birth, and his whereabouts in 1881.
Have a happy Christmas everyone !!
