Captain John Ellis Moist USAAF Fighter Pilot WW2.
« on: Sunday 15 December 24 23:11 GMT (UK) »
Hello all, can anyone help with finding information for 'John Ellis Moist?'

He was born 4th August 1923 in Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio, USA.

It was believed he was single and entered into military service from Ohio.

He was one of the first assigned to the 377th Fighter Squadron, 362Fighter Group, 9th USAAF with the rank of 2nd Lieutenant and he arrived in the U.K. in November 1943.

He died in his aircraft near Colchester 26th February 1944. He is buried in the American cemetery at Madingley, Cambridge, England.

Many thanks if anyone can help with family information.

There is a possibility a memorial or road might be named in his honour.
