The baptism of William Shoolbread Beveridge on 10th February 1840 at St Andrews Newcastle on Tyne shows the parents as John Beveridge a school master living in Newgate Street Newcastle and his wife Mary.
As suggested JonWarnn I lashed out on a digital copy of the child's death certificate which reads
Date of death 23rd November 1840 Clayton Street
Name William Shoolbread
Sex Male
Age 2 years
Rank or Profession Son of James Shoolbread Iron Founder
Cause of Death Croup
Informant Jas Shoolbread Occupier Clayton Street
How odd!!!

Hi
Gosh, I don't know what to say. Very sorry, of course.
What have I done wrong?
William Shoolbread Beveridge was buried on 19 October, so it can't possibly be the same child (with a bit of parent swapping!)
As you say, it is all a bit odd.
John
