My Thompson/Penfold Family

My maternal grandmother Priscilla Thompson was born in Southampton in 1873.I have a copy of her birth certificate. Her line, from Henry Thompson and Caroline Saunders, is well documented.


 I can find no evidence but I understand she was married to Arthur James Penfold for whom I have no details other than those that appear in the 1901 Census where it states he was born in Southampton and the 1911 Census where he is born in Lancashire

They had 6 children together, all have baptism certificates with both Priscilla and Arthur as there parents

Many people following the same trees say that he was born to Amos Penfold in Southampton but I cannot find any proof for that

My grandmother once told my mother that there was an Irish connection on his side but I Have not found proof

However,on my Ancestry.com DNA there is a definiote Irish link

The searching for Arthur James is driving me just a little bit nutty

I had forgotten that I had asked about Arthur James Penfold
Since then I have found the correct information for Priscilla Thompson, his wife, but nothing for Arthur

The only Arthur James Penfold I can find was b.16/4/1871 Lewisham in Kent. Father James Mother Emma. The only Amos Penfold b. Cuckfield Sussex bap.4/3/1849 Father William Mother Mary. In 1939 Priscilla Penfold is a Widow living with a William J Penfold b.15/5/1907. There is also a Priscilla Thompson marrying a Henry Penfold in Hampshire July 1929, so don't know if this fits in anywhere!!
