(Scottish marriage 1793 Carriden, Linlithgowshire. Groom possibly from Torryburn, Fife.)

What does it say after Robert Balfour? I think the first word looks like Salt.  Strangely, none of the other men on the page have anything written after them.

A waiter (or here waitor) was either used of a guard or of a customs employee. Salt was still being taxed.
