Profession on 1901 census
« on: Sunday 01 December 24 22:25 GMT (UK) »
Researching the family of my mum's friend I am unable to decipher what John Boucher's job was on the 1901 census (see clipping attached). And that of his wife Frances I think it says book folder but what is the other word writen in at the end. Can anyone work out what they say?

Frances' job is book golder I think...perhaps painted on the gold on the page edges.  The added word is 'painter'

The clip from deejayEn is RG13/142/92 pg 52 -  I think it says "Book folder" and "Binder" is added.

A similar entry 2 pages later for Frances BONESS:
RG13/142/93 pg54

I agree that the occupation is book folder.
The word binder is in different handwriting and has been added at a later date by someone classifying occupations.

I agree with shanreagh with book golder - enlarging the image it seems more like a 'g' rather than a 'f'.
