I said she was from Dalry.
More likely that a young woman before marriage would stay closer to home, and have her banns read in her parish church. I would look in Ayrshire for more probable baptisms for Christian. As I already posted, there is a possible in Dalry.

Thanks I will look into that one again - I did last time I looked at this and seem to remember I ruled it out but I can't remember why (I'll dig my notes out).

And sorry I should have made it clear Peter was a miner - pretty much all that side of my family were

I would not reject the 1841 census without further research.
Ages on that census are notoriously problematic, with rounding down, and assuming they even knew their correct age.
I would research the 15 year old Elizabeth - was she a grand-daughter? , or was there another couple with the names Peter and Christian, and miners, and in the same area at this time?

Found my folder from when I last looked at this. This was something I looked at and found nothing to confirm she was a grand-daughter. Whether another couple with same names. That I don't know. The only thing that points to it possibly being them is the area.

I do have that baptism already in Dalry but the post-it where I scribbled has disappeared. Was a long time ago now and the glue probably gave up but hopefully it'll come to me because there was definitely some reason I didn't add her on the basis of that record.
