Adoption records
« on: Sunday 01 December 24 16:05 GMT (UK) »
Sorry if my question seems a bit dumb: I have the birth record for a Josephine Nash on free BMD: Manchester S. Mar 1925, vol 8d p. 260. However this does not appear on the GRO web page. Is this because the person was adopted (as I expected)?
However I have another Nash, who I know was adopted in 1926, their records appear on both free BMD and the GRO web page. But there is an additional comment on the GRO site: Occasional copy: A. Why can I see this adopted person and what does the comment signify?

Thanks all for your help. I am a bit surprised that the GRO got the transcription wrong. Well done free BMD. I'm still chasing Josephine

The records on the GRO website index are taken from a different source to the ones on freebmd etc so the original may well have said Nach

The GRO have corrected 1926 entry to Joyce Annette NASH : that is some quick response!

Is this person the same as Josephine Nash (Nach on GRO), 1925?
