Missing Licences in Hexham

I am currently transcribing the Hexham marriage registers for FreeReg and have come across a frustrating phenomenon.
In the early 1700s there are many severely ripped pages giving only partial details, however dozens of them have 'married by vertue of a Licence'.
I thought that checking the marriage licences would allow me to fill in the missing details such as the names of the grooms, however none of the names appear in the Durham marriage licences database on Family Search. I also checked the York marriage licence database on FindMyPast but they don't appear there either.
Can anyone suggest where these licences might appear?

I can't see that any are online at the moment.
Since Hexham was a Peculiar of the Diocese of York at that time I should think that any that are in existence are probably held by the Borthwick.

Both York and Durham are online but the licences appear in neither.

It looks as though a block of the Hexham licences from the early 1710s are no longer in the archives.
