Alexander Fraser, born c.1785
« on: Tuesday 26 November 24 17:23 GMT (UK) »
Hi again  :)

I am in need of a birth record for Alexander Fraser in order to continue my grandma's paternal family tree, and was hoping somebody could help with suggestions for finding it!

- I know he married Ann Blackstock at Kirkcolm in 1834.
- The 1841 census he is listed as 48yo shoemaker (born 1793)
- The 1851 census he is listed as 68yo shoemaker (born 1783 in Kirkcolm)
- The 1861 census he is listed as 76yo pauper (born 1785, no birthplace listed)

He died 22nd April 1864 at Stranraer aged 79yo (born 1785). His parents are listed simply as deceased, so no clues there unfortunately!

Hi just come across your  request. Cannot help re his birth record, But I believe I have found his
death details.
There is a M.I. at Kirkcolm Old Churchyard it relates to Alexander Frazer, who died as per your details.
The stone is erected by his sister Jean and gives parents details as Hugh Fraser farmer in Ervia, Hughs wife Jean Bool (SP have he maiden name as Boyle. Depends on how its pronounced) A brother John & sister Mary.
I will type it up & post it later on this evening.

Muir,McDill/Dill,Payne,Hepburn,Ireland,Rae all in Kirkcudbrightshire.
