The surname is only four letters.  Then comes:   /my servant

I think the surname might be Dane.  However I use Ancestry.com.au so your link doesn't lead to anything useful.

If you wish to disclose the testator's name then I can look further.

I think you're right the first letter is a D.... Make sense now, thank you :)

Wayne, the D commonly used by this writer is quite different to the letter in the surname.  So not Dane, based on the evidence.

So far I can't see a match but will keep looking this evening.

At least the other letters appear to be solved "ane". And the "my" at the end initially was misleading since I mistook it for part of the surname.

Some other alphabetical possibilities: Cane, Kane, Lane or Zane, although the first letter doesn't appear to resemble a C, K or L when compared with the rest of the document.

Looking at the next few wills, they all have the same "D" as seen elsewhere in this will until the will of John Warrein, image 71. That has "Domini" and "Defender" in the opening phrase with the two different forms. It seems the scribe just occasionally uses the other form, and so the name here can be safely taken to be "Dane".

Interesting, David and Wayneort. I hadn't looked at further entries and was beginning to think the first letter was an R!
