Hardee of Stafford Arms, Swansea
« on: Thursday 21 November 24 11:55 GMT (UK) »
Can anyone help me please, I am looking for the baptisms of 3 generations of James Hardee. the first one i believe was born about 1765(but I think he was born in Stafford but moved to Swansea and run the Stafford Arms in Garden Street) His son was born about 1809 in Swansea and married Ann Williams in 1827, and their son was born about 1830 in Swansea and married Harriett Thomas in 1853. The problem is there are so many spellings of Hardee, Harde, Hardie, Hardy and Harding that I have found.
any help would be appreciated

That could depend on their religion as many non-conformist baptisms are not online. What’s the name of the son born in 1830, and where (church / chapel / registry office) did he marry?

I haven't looked at an image of Thomas and Susan's marriage ,you never know it may have more info.

Thank you for the details I have found most of them, I have queried the baptism of James no 2 as James Hearn in 1807. As regard James no3 I have found 2 baptisms both with parents James & Ann but one is at Hull as a non-conformist record in 1831 and the other is a place called Churchingford in Devon baptised with John Hardy in 1836. There is a son called John and the father is a mason which connects with the family. I don’t know if it is just a coincident of it’s them, am going to have to follow it up, even though the census says all the family were born in Swansea.
