He was aged 60. His wife quite a bit younger, or she has taken some years of her age in the census?

As you know ages can vary a lot on records, Captain William Nugent's age on death cert is 45 in 1903 so birth year circa 1858.
There are quite a few records for a William Nugent born Waterford birth in the 1850s in the Shipping agreements and crew lists. http://census.nationalarchives.ie/search/cl/home.jsp they may not all be him.
What I can't see is his last ship the Elizabeth Cowman but the Eagle in 1901 is one that looks good.

The newspaper report of his death Munster Express Feb 21 1903 says they were sailing from Waterford for Cardiff with timber, they were anchored at Glasshouse waiting for the tide when William went forward to make sure the anchor was clear he suddenly fell back and died.
He leaves a very large family. His widow lives at Faithlegge Lodge (Well the bad print looks more like Bodge) and is a sister to Mrs Joseph O'Shea, Francis Street. The vessel was owned by Captain Shea and Messrs Murphy
