Bona Vacantia
« on: Wednesday 13 November 24 13:51 GMT (UK) »
I wondered if anyone on the forum has made an application for an unclaimed estate themselves, rather than via an heir hunting company and would be willing to share their experiences of doing so.
I've just made initial contact with them and wondered what the potential pitfalls are. I've got heir hunting companies here, there and everywhere telling me that I won't be able to do it myself and that I need their expertise........

Thanks in advance

Thanks. I  believe I have all the information they require already, I was more looking for people's personal experience in dealing with it themselves. Just wanted to see how easy or hard it is in a real life situation. Obviously the heir hunters are trying to convince me it's super difficult and beyond me.

If you have the information required, then go for it!

Heir Hunters and similar will only use the information you already have - and charge for doing so.

Is there a government website you can follow through on he procedure?
