These are the 2 Robert Carson aged 60, one Glasgow - Steel Street in St Andrews Parish back then,
the other is Barony in this case Shettleston.
Interestingly they didnt split out households in Shettleston in 1841, just a long list.
CARSON ROBERT 1841 M 60 644/1 109/ 25 Glasgow Lanark
CARSON ROBERT 1841 M 60 622/ 196/ 11 Barony Lanark
I do think that the Shettleston one is the right person, the rest of the familiy are on the next page. When I say the census is suspect I just mean his origin and occupation cannot be verified. If have plenty cases where an 1851 Census and 1841 dont match up.
The point here is the only doc that I have with an age and possible birth location for Robert Carson are the 1841 Census. I am trying to find something/anything else. Given he died before 1851, findig anything else has been a dead end. The other issue of course is given the timeline between 1841-1850, both the Epsicopal Church split due to the Oxford movement and the Church of Scotland split. So not surprisingly records are hard to come by.
