Just remains to be seen how I cope with the 9 concrete steps up to the front door! :-\

That's welcome news KG.  Bet you feel uplifted, but please don't overdo things too soon. (which I know will be difficult)

That is a problem, but take it very slow and pause on each one, I hope you have hand rails, if not see if it’s possible to have them installed. Good luck.

Great to hear you’re returning home KG… as others have said take care and rest!

Oh what joy to see blue skies this morning… washing out and dry for the first time in what seems like an eternity… Hope it lasts but not holding my breath!

Plumber should have come this morning… not going to be here till Thursday earliest now.. when they know you’re retired they think it doesn’t matter when they turn up! OH non to pleased as he plays golf on Thursdays…

Hope everyone has a better week than last one …

Yes, really good news.
If you don’t have a sturdy handrail there are people, retired craftsmen who do these things voluntarily at no cost for labour of materials.
Ask before you leave hospital.
It was done for my husband when he broke his left arm and shoulder, they put a handrail on the right side for him.
Often Age UK charity shops have leaflets for these services .
One step,a deep breath then another and deep breath,it. Will take time but will be a bit easier .
Rest too is really important, and all good wishes to you.

Son just phone .wil come to sirt something out for me, the one here is working abd a conference via the computers later this morning ,so he can’t help just now .
Well must rush off and make it look as if I have done some housework? ???

Apparently, I'm getting a visit from the "Older People's Hospital Social Work Team".
And I am now the proud owner of: A 4-wheeled walker, a 3-wheeled walker, and a 4 wheeled tea-trolley contraption!
Just need to find room for them all!!

Oh! and leaflets re Care Phones and what I call Panic buttons (on lanyard).
Anybody use one?

I have a pendant, it’s linked to my landline. If you have a fall for example and can’t get up, you just press the button and after a few seconds someone answers and addresses you by name and asks the problem, they will send help. If you have a key in your key safe they, will keep the access code on record so that access can be gained by whoever comes to your rescue. You don’t have to be near the phone, if they can’t hear you speak they will see someone to investigate.

Touch wood I have not had to use mine, but I press the button periodically to check it is working properly. I  really recommend one for someone in your position.
