Hulse family - missing relatives

Hi, have you considered that Hannah didn't actually marry? I have ancestors that didn't marry but took on a man's name and declared themselves 'married' and 'widowed' when they weren't.

Hi, I did consider this. I wondered if Phoebe and William considered that their Grandfather Charles Hulse was their father figure in place of their actual missing father. It's also strange that there is no birth certificate for William (it was mandatory to register births in 1895) - that I can find - or marriage certificate for Hannah (I have her birth cert), although there is birth certificate for Phoebe in 1896 in Northop.

There is a birth registration for William Hulse Runcorn 1895 Q4. In the 1921 census there is a William Hulse born in Flintshire age 25 years and 6 months living with Hannah hulse age 56 years and 1 month, born in Birkenhead. Something to consider maybe....

There is also a baptism record for a william Hulse in the Cheshire workhouse records, son of Ann Hulse (Ann, short for Hannah?) The dates match. No mention of a father.
