Many years ago I had a digitised copy of an application for a homestead under the provisions of the “Dominions Land Act”, dated 13th July 1908 [and granted 6th August 1908] for Lionel Gilpin Bland.
I made a note of the details but I would love to know how find an image of the original.
Other information it contained included: Address, Pengarth. Obtained entry for this homestead, 26th September 1904. Took up residence 1st June 1905. Built his house September 1906. Resided June 1st 1905 to 1st November 1905 and from 30th June continuously to date of this application.
This statement was sworn before the Local Agent for Dominion Lands for the Regina District at Pengarth on the 21st day November 1907.
Can anyone direct me to where I can find & download an image or, better still, supply a URL for it?
It was a Rootschat lady Donna Ducharme ("Duck Charm"), who obtained this for me back in about 2005 as part of Paul Etherington's 'April Challenge' when he randomly selected Lionel Gilpin Bland from the 1881 U.K. Census and asked RootsChatters to find out everything they could about him! I kept in touch with Donna for several years but, sadly, she died of Cancer in 2017.
