George Hyde born 1852 Ticknall, Derbyshire and wife Sarah Ann Hill
« on: Tuesday 29 October 24 19:16 GMT (UK) »
I am looking for George Hyde born in 1852 in Ticknall Derbyshire. His parents were George Hyde and Fanny Dimmock. He married Sarah Ann Hill in 1874. On the 1881 census they are living with their daughter Maria in Belton Leicestershire and then I am struggling to find them. George might be back in Ticknall on the 1891 census and again in 1901, but with a different wife Elizabeth and no children. I can't find a death for Sarah Ann through. I also can't find a marriage to Elizabeth. George then I think moves to Lichfield and marries an Elizabeth Minnie Shorthouse in 1910 and then dies in 1931. I think this is correct, but not sure because I don't know what happens to his first wife and who his second wife is. Can anyone look him up for me please?

There is a Mary Hyde grand daughter age 12 in 1891

living with George Hill 74 and Ann Hill 60 in Belton Leicester. Sarah' parents

ADDED
Her grandfather George Hill died 1898.

As Maria/Mary was 12 in 1891 she no doubt was sent into service.

Thanks - I did see that Maria/Mary was living with her grandparents on the 1891 census. I haven't been able to find her after that though. I also found the birth and death of George and Sarah Ann's son Henry and also the possible birth of another son William Henry in 1884. Again I haven't been able to find him or a death for him after this birth either.

I did see the death for Sarah Ann Hyde in 1897, but I agree I think that is the Sarah Ann Hill born in Ticknall the daughter of John Hyde and Elizabeth.

Could this Elizabeth Hyde with George on the 1891 and 1901 census be Sarah Ann? If of course that even is the correct George Hyde.

Hi,

I don't know if you are still for info about George HYDE but just in case  :)

The William Henry HYDE born in 1884 seems to belong to John and Anna,

Baptism
06 Apr 1884,  Holy Trinity,Loughborough
William Henry HYDE
Parent's: John and Anna
8 Queen St
Painter

So Sarah Ann is last seen in 1881. I can't find a death for her but I think this could be George and Elizabeth and a daughter.

Birth
Minnie Homer  HYDE    Mar Q 1884    Ashby de la Zouch      7a  99
mmn: HOMER

Baptism
08 Oct 1884,  Ashby de la Zouch, St Helen's
Minnie Homer HYDE
George and Elizabeth
Abode:  Worthington, County of Leicester
Labourer

Burial
19 Oct 1884,  Ashby de la Zouch, St Helen's
Minnie Homer HYDE
Age:  11m
Abode:  Worthington, County of Leicester

Marriage
George HYDE    Dec Q 1884    Burton upon Trent    6b  629
Elizabeth HOMER

Staffordshire BMD has,
HYDE   George   HORNER   Elizabeth   1884   Burton-upon-Trent Register Office

so there is no parish record of this marriage to check the date or where they lived.

There is this death which fits Elizabeth,

Death
Elizabeth  HYDE    Ashby de la Zouch    Dec Q 1904    7a 56
Age:  45

Burial
19 Dec 1904,  Tickenhall, Derby
Elizabeth
Age at death:  45y
Residence:  Tickenhall

Has anyone found Sarah's death?

Regards,
Daisy
